Day 1 - Wednesday 2nd
Art on Rails is a large-scale projection and audio-visual journey designed based on a residency with regional artists within the Gladstone community.
The installation is be populated with images that are mysterious yet somehow familiar, tracing connections, routes, bridging our worlds, inviting escape whilst harnessing the wisdom of our different views. By contrasting older forms of image creation with mediums that range from drawing, painting and collage with animation, the projected installation will cross boundaries that allows the most recent digital technologies to be for everyone, regardless of where we live, our age, ability, background, social, economic or personal circumstances.
Art on Rails is an installation that unites a community by giving them the opportunity to share their stories whilst tapping into their regions unique character through animation and projection. This project will transform the participants ideas by helping them to explore new ways of thinking and giving them access to different ways of making and displaying art. The outcome of this work will then be able to be shared with all of the people in this community and other communities, building pride and identity whilst creating a culture of inclusion that helps them to deal with social challenges, promoting health and wellbeing in liveable towns.
