Jess bankstown

Hello my name is Jessica Olivieri and I am the AD at UTP.

UTP is based in Western Sydney, we have led the creation of performance, at the intersection of contemporary art and social practice, since 1979. We develop and produce work that has the politics of Western Sydney emended within it. That is work that is intersectional; work that leads the conversation on social practice and work that challenges who work is for and by.

We believe art is not a luxury, it is central to humanity. This is why we create urgent contemporary work, with artists - and for want of a better word ‘community’.

We are in the process of pivoting all our programming online for 2020 in order to support our artistic community projects including; Dream Sequence - a series of 10 digitally realised 20min works; The Quiet Discomfort - a VR series that address the difficult conversations we needs to have; M'ap Bule by Nancy Denis and Sex Drugs and Pork Rolls by Sweatshop.
