Katrina Italiano is an emerging Perth based artist primarily working with sound design and experimental music. She is currently interested in the experience of place, particularly in the isolated green spaces that exist inside urban environments. Her explorations traverse the mediums of field recording, sound design, video art and photography.

In 2018 Katrina returned to study a BA majoring in Fine Art and Electronic Music and Sound Design at The University of Western Australia. Previously she completed business studies at Central Institute of Technology in 2014 and her first BA, majoring in Art History and English and Cultural Studies, at The University of Western Australia in 2012. Katrina was Marketing and Memberships Manager at Ausdance WA from 2015 to 2018. Over the past 15 years she has also worked in the independent music industry (band management, events and media publicity) and in community events.

An online symposium exploring ideas of basic income and the need for an approach to economy that puts creativity and care at its centre. Led by a panel of artists, researchers, economists, scientists and philosophers, the symposium responds to current and ongoing planetary crises, and positions creativity and social ecology as integral to shaping policy and systems of value.

The Symposium is a joint initiative of Arts Front, BLINDSIDE and Next Wave and was supported by the City of Melbourne COVID-19 Arts Grants.
