Italian and Hungarian composer and pianist, Peter Bajetta studied at the Conservatory of Music of Verona, the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre where he graduated in composition in 2019. His main composition tutors were Adam Gorb, Tõnu Kõrvits, Paul Patterson, Helena Tulve and Federico Zandona’.

His music has been performed by the BBC Singers, Caritas Chamber Choir, Manchester Camerata, Tine Thing Helseth, Prezioso String Quartet, EMTA Symphony Orchestra, RNCM Brand New Orchestra, Stanislao Silesu Samassi Wind Band and many others on different occasions in Estonia, Italy, Spain and the UK. He took part in several masterclasses, seminars and workshops with composers such as Jonathan Dove, Michael Finnissy, Tim Garland, Klaus Lang, Helmut Lachenmann and Judith Weir, just to name some.

Peter has always been a very active composer. He collaborated as a composer, arranger and orchestrator with many musicians. In 2018 he was the composer in residence for Caritas Chamber Choir after winning the “Caritas Chamber Choir Emerging Composer Composition Competition 2018”.

His compositions Impakt (2019) for symphony orchestra and Cantus (2018) for cello and piano are the latest examples of Peter’s interest in exploring ways music can be a form of expression, demonstration and reaction to environmental and social issues. On this theme, he has been extensively involved in collaborating with Italian musicians (Margherita Anselmi, Alberto Delama, Marta Espejo, Davide Pigozzi and Ruhama Santorsa) by composing pieces connected with feminism and water pollution.
