I am preparing to start my PhD in Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths. My thesis is entitled: New vocalities: towards the aesthetics of radical immanence between nature and art. Here I will explore artworks in which nature– be it plant, tree or ecosystem– is an active, creative and vocal subject. My thesis will harness the capacity of these works to generate new modes of relationality with nonhumans,  allowing me to readdress the philosophical and political questions: what is a subject and what is a voice?
