Alison is a researcher at 3A Institute (3Ai) at Australian National University, currently working remotely from Adelaide. 3Ai is guiding and accelerating into existence a new branch of engineering centred on effectively and ethically managing the impact of artificial intelligence (Ai) on humanity through better design and management of technology.
Alison was a member of the first cohort of 3Ai’s Masters of Applied Cybernetics. The world’s first graduate program focusing on the challenges of ensuring Ai-enabled cyber-physical systems are safe, sustainable and responsible.
Alison delights in making great things happen through community development, engagement, education and events usually with a hint of technology. Alison is the founder and former Chair of South Australian Makers Inc, who established Makerspace Adelaide, was producer of the award winning Maker Faire Adelaide.
