Name: Critical Stages Touring
My Role: CEO & Director
Critical Stages Touring is Australia’s national touring theatre company – discovering and commissioning outstanding independent theatre for audiences everywhere. We create experiences that connect communities across a national network of over 100 theatres and presenting partners;
support sector development through industry support initiatives like the Indy Theatre Forums and our Stage & Stream guides; and now connect local artists with the world through the development of original works for the CST Screening Room, our new online platform for digital theatre.
I grew up in Sydney, Australia, and have also lived in Melbourne and Fremantle. I have been living on Wangal Country in Sydney’s inner-west for the past 7 years.
How I got where I am today
I have worked in numerous different roles within the arts over my career. I studied theatre direction at the Victorian College of the Arts, and started an independent theatre company in Melbourne in 2001. Meanwhile I have worked as a dramaturg, theatre producer, writer, arts educator, performer, casting director, actors’ agent and much much more.
Our first tour in over a year kicks off this week at Frankston Arts Centre in Melbourne’s south. We think its pretty great to be back touring again after such a long hiatus. https://criticalstages.com.au/portfolio/lamb/
