I work on compassionate conservation, a new field of conservation biology that prioritises empathy and virtuous relationships between beings. Most of my research is attentive to species often missed by, or derided by, mainstream conservation (common, introduced, abundant), with a view to unblocking impediments that prevent them from flourishing.
