
Daniel Riley is a Wiradjuri man with cultural ties throughout western NSW. He is the sixth Artistic Director of Australian Dance Theatre in 56 years, and the first First Nations artist in the role.
Daniel established himself as an outstanding dancer as soon as he joined Bangarra Dance Theatre at age 21. During his dance career he has choreographed more than 15 works spanning many companies in Australia as well as overseas. He has been in Melbourne since 2019, work with Ilbijerri Theatre Company, Chunky Move, and as an in demand independent artist and collaborator.
Reset: A New Public Agenda for the Arts offered two days and nights of thinking and discussion about how the arts and cultural sector could work to break out of the current impasse through a radical reorganisation of cultural practice and policy.
