Dr Bianca Beetson is a Kabi Kabi (Sunshine Coast) Wiradjuri (NSW) woman and is the Director of the Indigenous Research Unit at Griffith University.
Bianca is a visual artist who works in a broad range of media including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography fibre arts and public art. Bianca was a former member of the seminal Aboriginal artists collectives Campfire group and Proppanow. Bianca is also has a background in curation and community engaged arts practice.
Previously, Bianca was the Program Leader of the Bachelor of Contemporary Australian Indigenous Art degree at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University. Bianca is also a member of QAGOMA board of trustees and their Indigenous Advisory Panel, a member of the Museum of Contemporary Art's Artist Advisory Group and a Board Member of the National Association of Visual Artists (NAVA).
