Gemma Banks is a Ōtautahi born artist, book designer and arts administrator. 

Gemma graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (first-class Honours) in Graphic Design during which time she interned at Ilam Press designing and printing artist books. From there she worked in-house at the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū. She has been involved in designing and risograph printing a number of award-winning poetry books for Canterbury University Press and has recently been published in Share/Cheat/Unite and Hamster. Her work on Heart of Glass for Enjoy Contemporary Art Space was nominated as a finalist in the AGDA Awards 2019 and the DINZ Best Awards 2019. 

Gemma currently works at the Art Gallery of NSW as well as working as a freelance book designer.
