Hira is a PhD Candidate with the Urban Informatics Research Group at the QUT Design Lab and QUT Digital Media Research Centre. She is an architect and an urban design theorist, with a research focus on a more-than-human conception of geosurveillance technologies and data governance in urban design futures. Her research is situated at the intersection of more-than-human geographies, multispecies data governance, and environmental justice. Before commencing her PhD, she worked as an urban planning consultant at The United Nations Development Programme and as a Research Assistant with [urban interfaces] at Utrecht University. My artistic practice similarly takes on an eco-critical, decolonial, post-human, and performance-based “mixed” approach to explore cosmologies and relationships to more-than-human beings and places.
