Jessica Brown

Jessica Brown is the driving force behind the Regeneration - Creative Bushfire Recovery Project Beechmont. She is a poet, performer, director, arts worker and teacher. She has over twenty years’ experience working across the creative industries, education and the not- for-profit arts and cultural sectors. She has worked with communities in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Mackay Region and Leeds (UK) in various creative, community development and nurturing roles. Jessica worked for Access Arts Qld, Speak Out and Crossing Divides creating community-engaged multi arts programs. She has a background in youth theatre, a degree in Creative industries (Performance Studies) Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and has performed at Glastonbury (UK) and Wood Ford Folk Festival. Jessica lives in Beechmont, Qld where she coordinates The Little Pocket, a grassroots association that celebrates community connection, capacity building and creativity.
