Mary Rosengren is an artist researcher and Adjunct Research Associate with the Institute for Land Water and Society (ILWS), Charles Sturt University, NSW.
Current focus is the Bogong High Plains and developing global peatlands project-of art/science partnerships. This interest in of vegetation in extreme environments has taken her on field trips to the saltbush of Lake Mungo, NSW, the Cairngorm Mountains Scotland; the Antarctic Peninsular; scientific collections and research facilities in the UK and Australia, including CSIRO’s biological collections and the Australian Synchrotron. Through her ANAT Synapse residency 2011, and in partnership with CSIRO Discovery, Mary initiated discussions about the relationship between art and science practices resulting in the symposium Spectra: images and data in art/science 2012.
