Michelle Hall is a theatre maker, teaching artist, arts worker and activist. She was Youth Arts Team Leader at Pegasus Theatre in Oxford where she co-created social justice arts projects such as Walking on Eggshells with Children in Need (UK), Journeys To Freedom with the Afro-Caribbean Kultural Heritage Initiative and Catalyst, a theatre company for adults with special educational needs. Michelle is a former tutor-director with Oxford Youth Theatre and now works with Barking Gecko Theatre. In 2019 Michelle lead an occupation and forum event where a group of mother-artists and their kids took over a mainstream theatre venue and made a mess! They created MOTHERFESTO: Rights, Access and Inclusion for all mothers in the arts and culture. The MOTHERFESTO is the voices of mothers speaking up about the Motherhood Penalty and, as mothers readily do, finding solutions to activate change so that mothers can overcome the barriers to participation and contribute diverse, contemporary iterations about motherhood(s) to cultural narrative.
Join us for a day-long immersive experience with artists and changemakers demonstrating how arts and creativity is transforming lives and building stronger, more connected communities.
