Mrs Nadine Samaha I senior principal architect level architekture
MArch I ARBV I AIA I NSWARB I LEED green associate I Permaculturist

Nadine is a senior principal architect at level architekture, sustainability lecturer, environmental and social sustainability advocate based in Melbourne. Level architekture>konstrukt was established 26 years ago to fulfil the need for a comprehensive interdisciplinary service, where design, construction and other disciplines intertwine. LEVEL as a palindrome alludes to a balance between Architecture, Construction and Environment.

Nadine applies Energy Efficiency, Passive and Biophilic Design principles in creating spaces and forms that seamlessly connect with the natural world, promotes well being and support positive emotional energy. The practice's Construction continuum allows her with her civil engineer/builder partner John to push boundaries in construction techniques and to explore new methodologies.

She is currently working on a research project with Dr Jordan Lacey at RMIT through the Enabling Capability Platform ECP addressing climate change: "Transforming Motorways' Noise Barriers".

She is currently chairman of the Sustainable Architecture Forum SAF and councillor at the AIA Victorian Chapter. Prior, Nadine was director and chairman of ArchiTeam, not for profit association supporting architects | 1996-1998. The Minister of Planning and Local government Robert Maclellan at the time praised ArchiTeam’s achievement in fulfilling the real need in the architectural community.

She is as well Vice President of the Australian Lebanese Historical Society Victoria ALHSV. She was part of the committee of the "Kahlil Gibran: The Garden of the Prophet" exhibition at the Immigration Museum. On the 4th of March 2019 in anticipation of Women's Day, she organized a very successful Symposium " The influence, parallel and commonality of Gibran's life with contemporary Lebanese migrant women" 2019 to a full house audience.

An online symposium that brings The Mind of Plants contributors together to share their reflections and various learnings with plants.
