Regina is passionate about community engagement, self determination, social and economical enrichment programs in remote communities. She firmly believes Education Is The Key.   As a child her parents instilled that in her and their children’s children.

In 2015, Regina was selected to participate in the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation - Leadership Program, Cohort 22. Her cohort and fellow alumni travelled nationally and internationally to Indonesia, learning about regional and global issues and it's effects on society.

Regina has been fundamentally involved in the establishment of the Torres Strait Writers Group since 2016.   She hopes to reignite the flame and bring together women, girls, children and menfolk, to capture Torres Strait traditional, fictional and non-fictional stories, embedded with traditional languages.

She is keen to learn her traditional mother tongues, Mabuyag and Meriam Mir dialects.
