Shannon Kennedy is an American documentary film editor with a background in experimental visual arts, scientific imaging and literature.

She most recently edited A.rtificial I.mmortality, which is the 2021 opening night film at Hot Docs International Film Festival, as well as Pushed Up the Mountain, a film about the rhododendron plant. She has been both a fellow and advisor at the Sundance Institute’s Documentary Edit and Story Lab.

Shannon’s own multimedia installations have been featured in solo gallery and museum exhibitions. A lifelong interest in science and the natural world has led her to collaborate with numerous scientists, and she is currently developing a film about plant subjectivity.
