Chi-Chi-Lina-SMALL

I am a theatre maker who is dedicated to projects that ask big questions, challenge social norms, engage audiences, and address gender equality.

I work in performance and events with skills in physical theatre, Butoh, puppetry, and multi-platform storytelling. I hold an undergraduate degree in Creative Arts from La Trobe University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Arts and Community Engagement from The Victoria College of the Arts. I am currently the Marketing and Communications Coordinator at La Mama Theatre, Melbourne and work as Lead Artist on Arts Access Victoria’s Way Out West program.

In 2018 I have been accepted for a residency at Women*s Circus to continue the development of my project Of Giants. I did a first phase development of this project, Of Giants, as part of Explorations at La Mama Theatre in 2017.  Of Giants explores the relationship between epigenetics and family history told through a developing interdisciplinary storytelling practise.

My work as a theatre maker, performer, and community arts facilitator has seen me working in a range of settings, from festivals, theatres, clubs, art galleries, and community centres. I have toured both regionally, interstate and internationally as a performer and theatre maker in the last 5 years. I am also a sole parent of my beautiful 6 year old who has been on many adventures with me.

With the commitment by the new federal government to renew and reinstate the Creative Australia National cultural policy by the end of 2022, there is a perfect opportunity to complete the Arts Front 2030 work, and promote the ideas and visions for the future that people have contributed over the last five years.
