Dinner #2 - Tuesday 26th May
The theme for Scenic Rim Regional Council's second Arts Dinner Online is 'Mentoring: what is it and how to get involved'.
This event commences with a Welcome from Aunty Janis Page; guest artist, Kim Williams and performers, Mununjali Ngari (pre-recorded at Wyaralong Dam) and The Ironing Maidens. Then, there'll be a fun, half-hour cooking segment with local chef, Richard Ousby, from The Overflow Estate 1895, who will be using fresh local produce.
By emailing Scenic Rim Regional Council to register, you will be sent the Zoom link to join us online along with a recipe for the event.
Following on from the performers and cooking segment, a panel discussion will dive into the theme of the evening, MENTORING: What is it and how to get involved. Our speakers on this important topic will be:
- Andrew Wright – Goat Track Theatre Company;
- Patty Preece – Central Queensland University (CQUni);
- Melania Jack – songwriter and musician;
- Ant McKenna – Program Manager for Brisbane Multiculrual Art Centre (BEMAC);
- Kim Walmsley – Mununjali artist and artsworker;
- Wendy Green – Queensland Museum and the Lost Trades Fair
The Arts Dinner will be hosted by Bronwyn Davies, Coordinator Cultural Services at Scenic Rim Regional Council and Michelle Blair, Regional Arts Services Officer for SW Queensland.
For those who cannot attend (virtually) on the day, the sessions will be recorded and a transcription provided that can be accessed from YouTube, at a later date. You can also share this event with your friends and family on Facebook.
