
Alexa is an independent artist (director/dramaturg/maker) based in Boorloo on Whadjuk Noongar Country. Recent creative works include Watch and Act (Katie McAllister, 2021, dramaturg); Love (Eat Life Productions, 2020, director); See You Next Tuesday (Static Drive Co., 2019, director); Two Canaries (Alexa Taylor Productions, 2019, writer/director); and Playthings (Second Chance Theatre 2019, Black Swan State Theatre Company 2021, dramaturg). She is currently a lecturer in Performance Making at the WA Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), with research interests that sit in the intersection of art and performance with social and political transformation. Through Murdoch University she has worked on research projects that explored creativity and sense of place; creative practice, ecology, and sustainability; site specific performance making; and theatre and politics. She is currently expanding the critical and creative work from her PhD on performance, connection, and hope in relation to climate change.
