
Cat Jones is an artist, writer and researcher thinking across biological, social and metaphysical realms.
Her work has a focus on transformation and the subversion of science, history, language and the senses. Working with neuroscientists, biologists, anatomists, entomologists, chemists and gastronomists she creates live, media, textual, site-responsive, socially engaged, edible and olfactory art. Her projects span multispecies relationships, plant signaling, entomophagy, illusions, neuroscience, identity politics, climate change, medicine + feminist futures.
Commissions include Sydney Festival, Vitalstatistix, Proximity Festival and The Wired Lab. Cat is a Creative Australia Fellow, alumni of SymbioticA and ANAT’s Synapse, Create NSW Performing Arts and Music Fellow and currently Creative Industries Resident with MAAS Powerhouse.
