As the founding director of Theatre Network Australia (TNA), established 2009, Nicole’s work aims to attain greater recognition of the contribution that independent artists and small to medium organisations make to social, cultural and economic wellbeing. Nicole has been one of the leaders of the #freethearts campaign over the last 18 months, learning alongside the rest of the arts sector about how to be a more effective advocate. Her work over the last 20 years in Australia has included advocating for a more inclusive arts sector – especially for people from diverse backgrounds, those with disabilities and First Nations people. Arts Front is a natural extension of that work and I am excited to be part of it. Nicole lives and works on Boonwarung and Wurundjeri countries.
