Rebecca Jensen is a dancer, choreographer and teacher based in Narrm / Melbourne. Notable works include Deep Sea Dances Dance Massive 2017, Artshouse; Explorer Kier Choreographic Award finalist 2016; Sinkhole with Jess Gall and Arini Byng, Designhub RMIT, 215 Albion, Irene Rose Gallery 2018, MPavillion 2020. Shorter works have featured at Tiny Festival Christchurch, Venice Biennale International Dance Festival, Victorian College of the Arts,  MPavillion, Spring 1883 Windsor Hotel, Lucy Guerin Pieces for Small Spaces.

 

With Sarah Aiken she has presented Underworld, (Darebin Arts Melbourne, Supercell Festival Brisbane 2017, Melbourne Knowledge week 2019); OVERWORLD (Next Wave Festival 2014, Dance Massive Melbourne 2015) and most recent project What Am I Supposed To Do? (WAISTD) Art Centre Melbourne/Melbourne Fringe Take Over! 2019. Together they founded ongoing participatory performance Deep Soulful Sweats (2013) which has been presented across Australia.

 

Rebecca collaborates and performs with a range of artists including Jo Lloyd, Shelley Lasica, Lucy Guerin Inc, Lilian Steiner, Amos Gerhardt, Atlanta Eke, Sandra Parker, Natalie Abbott, Nathan Gray, Public Movement (Israel), Mårten Spångberg (Sweden) and Lee Serle. Rebecca was a recipient of DanceWEB Europe scholarship 2015 and artist in residence at Phillip Adams Balletlab, Temperance Hall 2018. In 2021 she will be an artist in residence at Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, supported by the Australia Council.
