Rose Barrowcliffe is a Butchulla woman, researcher and artist of the Wonamutta clan. She was taught to weave and print by Elders in her family. Rose's work combines modern and traditional mediums and methods to capture elements of South-east Queensland including her Traditional Country from Cooloola to the Fraser Coast and K'gari (Fraser Island). The flora of Butchulla country is showcased through Rose's work, whether they be the subject of the piece or the medium with which the artwork is made.
Field Trip is an international research symposium investigating creative practice at the intersection of art, science, technology and the environment.
