  • Boards at both Government and large arts organisations mainly comprise 'leaders' from the corporate sector. The personnel has become too narrow. As Kate Larsen says volunteers who often don't fully understand what's required to make and present the work. Urgently need more arts knowledge on Boards.

  • Not to mention that the Model Rules for organisations in each state isn't very good and organisations usually adopt them as is.

  • An alternative model: in Canada, gambling profits are sequestered for charitable organisations (including registered arts organisations). It's a hugely valuable resource.

  • I’ll Take That as a Comment offers five people each day, selected from an open callout process, the chance to put forward proposals for change in the arts and cultural sector. But it’s also an opportunity for anyone in the live chat to put forward their ideas. Do you have an idea for how things – or one important thing – could be done very differently?
