First Peoples the world over have been sharing knowledge and culture through networks for thousands of years. In recognition that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are Australia's First Peoples and Traditional Custodians of country I acknowledge the Turrbal, Jagera and Yugarapul People as Custodians of the land on which I live and work, Meanjin (also known as Brisbane). I acknowledge and respect their continuing connection to land, waters and community, and I acknolwedge that sovereignty of this country was never ceded. In doing so I pay respect to their Elders – past, present and emerging – and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their communities and their cultures throughout Australia.
